Our History

Christian Lawyers Alliance Pakistan

The history of the Christian Lawyers Alliance Pakistan is intriguing and unique in the manner of its founding and establishment. In the years 2020 a group of spirit-filled, born-again Christian lawyers in Pakistan came together to establish an alliance with a vision and passion to foster harmony among Christian lawyers in Pakistan. To achieve this, numerous events were organized to communicate the vision of CLAP.

This vision was shared with religious leaders from various church denominations to disseminate among their congregations. The motto of CLAP is to assist the underprivileged and the weak in their legal matters in their daily lives, as many falsely accused Christians languish in prisons in Pakistan without the means to advocate for their rights.

Thousands of Christians fled from Pakistan to countries like Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Thailand due to religious persecution, and find themselves stranded there for years, living in hardship. Thus, the overarching objective was to support the persecuted, refugees, underprivileged, and weak individuals, while also providing scholarships to young Christian lawyers for their LLB, LLM, and further education. Although CLAP has made strides in achieving some of its goals, there remains much work to be done, with unwavering efforts and passion driving the organization forward.

CLAP now boasts experienced lawyers from high courts on its panel to offer legal aid to the persecuted not only in Pakistan but beyond its borders. The organization is steadfast in its commitment to deliver justice to victims of domestic violence, abuse, religious persecution, racism, and in protecting children from abuse and other vulnerable areas. While the history of CLAP may be simple and humble, through the grace of the Lord, it is steadily growing and making history every day.
